Public Review And Comment Period

The Transit Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) for Merced County, as the policy body for “THE BUS” and as a direct recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding, must undergo a public review process whenever FTA funding changes. The TJPA for Merced County will use $3.8 million of CARES Act FTA 5307 funding and other monies to purchase eleven buses and two transit support vehicles, and to remodel the transit administration building. Public Review and Comment Period

The TJPA for Merced County was awarded $306,833 of FTA 5339(a), Bus Replacement Discretionary Program, grant funding. These FTA 5339(a) funds and other monies will be used to purchase three buses at an estimated cost of $360,981. Public review and comment period ends on July 13, 2020. More information

Notice to Public – May 7, 2020

In accordance with 49 CFR Part 26.45(g), TJPAMC, a recipient of U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) assistance, announces a proposed Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 1.0% for the triennial period October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023. This race-neutral goal represents the percentage of work anticipated to be performed by certified DBE firms on TJPAMC’s FTA-assisted projects during the triennial period.

The Merced County Association of Governments’ Social Services Transportation Advisory Council will be holding public forums to seek input from residents on current transit services and to discuss the future of transit service in the region. More information

Notice of Fee for ID Card Replacement

Effective March 1st, 2018 the Transit Joint Powers Authority (The Bus) will implement a fee for replacing ID Cards issued to Paratransit, Seniors, Veterans and Medicare Card Holders. More information.
